Founded in 1887, Foo Clan Singapore (Previously known as Fu Clan Association), a non-profit organisation was established by Mr. Fu Yugui with the aim to provide basic necessity support to the Hainan Fu community from the southern end of China. After a period of development, the organisation improves and started institutionalised charters to better handle complex social affairs.
In 1953, under the leadership of President Mr. Foo Zhifeng, the Association formed a building reconstruction committee chaired by Mr. Foo Hongjun, to oversee the expansion of its existing site at Mitolu at Hainan 1st Street. The new Clubhouse, a 3-storey building completed in 1954 is a significant milestone in the building of Hainan and Fu community.
